はじめに
ピコシュアプロを使ってきた経験は、「ワールドツアー」として世界各地でお話ししてきました。その旅が、いよいよ韓国に届いた回です。
1. 開発段階から関わってきたレーザー
ピコシュアプロは、波長755nmのピコ秒アレキサンドライトレーザーです。私はこのレーザーの開発段階から関わり、2021年からは世界第1号機を用いて治療を行ってきました。
これまで「ピコシュアプロ ワールドツアー」として、その臨床経験を世界各地で講演してきました。今回は、韓国の医師に向けてお話しする機会をいただきました。
2. 韓国の医師たちと共有したこと
講演では、ピコシュアプロをこれまでどのように使ってきたか、その臨床経験を共有しました。会場には多くの韓国の医師が参加してくださり、美容医療への熱意と関心の高さを肌で感じる時間になりました。

3. 教える場で、学んだこと
講演は、こちらが経験を伝える場であると同時に、質問や議論を通じて新しい視点をもらう場でもあります。韓国の医師たちとの交流から、私自身も新たな洞察と知識を得ることができました。

米国レーザー医学会（ASLMS）専門医、医療法人社団光悠会理事長。Cynosure社のアドバイザリーボードには日本から唯一参加し、PicoSure Proの開発段階から携わり、第1号機による症例報告も行ってきました。世界最大のレーザー医学会ASLMSやIMCAS ASIA、KOREA DERMAなどの国際学会で招待講演を行い、国際的な医師教育プログラム「GMI」を主宰。海外の医師の指導・育成にも取り組んでいます。

In April 2023, as part of the “PicoSure Pro World Tour”, I gave a lecture to doctors in Korea on my clinical experience with PicoSure Pro. I have been involved with this laser since its development stage, and since 2021 I have been treating patients with the world’s first unit. On the same day I also lectured at KALDAT and exchanged views with many Korean doctors.
Introduction
I have been sharing my experience of using PicoSure Pro in various parts of the world as a “World Tour”. This was the stop at which that journey finally reached Korea.
1. A laser I have been involved with since its development stage
PicoSure Pro is a 755 nm picosecond alexandrite laser. I have been involved with this laser since its development stage, and since 2021 I have been treating patients with the world’s first unit.
As the “PicoSure Pro World Tour”, I have lectured on that clinical experience in various parts of the world. This time, I was given the opportunity to speak to doctors in Korea.
2. What I shared with Korean doctors
In the lecture, I shared my clinical experience of how I have used PicoSure Pro so far. Many Korean doctors attended, and it was a time when I could feel at first hand their enthusiasm for, and strong interest in, aesthetic medicine.
On the same day, I also lectured at KALDAT. I am grateful to everyone at Hydrafacial Korea and Cynosure Korea.
3. What I learned while teaching
A lecture is a place where I pass on my experience, but at the same time it is a place where I gain new perspectives through questions and discussion. Through my exchanges with Korean doctors, I too was able to gain new insights and knowledge.
At our clinic, too, we use PicoSure Pro, a medical device approved in Japan (approval number 30500BZX00079000), to treat pigmentation, freckles, ADM and other conditions. Treatment settings are decided after checking the condition of the skin during the examination.

What is the “PicoSure Pro World Tour”?
It is an initiative in which I have lectured to doctors in various parts of the world on my clinical experience of using PicoSure Pro. What concerns is PicoSure Pro used for?
The intended uses approved in Japan are the treatment of benign pigmented lesions and tattoo removal. At our clinic, we use PicoSure Pro to treat pigmentation, freckles, ADM and other conditions. Treatment aimed at acne scars, pores, fine wrinkles or skin quality falls outside the scope of the approval (off-label use). Results vary between individuals.
What is checked before PicoSure Pro treatment?
We check the type and depth of the pigmentation and the condition of the skin during the examination. On that basis, we explain whether PicoSure Pro is suitable, the expected number of sessions, and the costs and risks. Fees are listed in the price list on our official website.

When addressing concerns that appear on the skin, such as pigmentation, melasma and pores, what I value is assessing not only the symptoms but also the condition of the skin in which those symptoms arose.
With devices such as lasers, radiofrequency and ultrasound, results differ from person to person even when the same settings are used. What creates that difference is whether the skin is in a condition to receive heat and respond to treatment. That is why, while preparing the skin so that it can respond where necessary, I propose the appropriate treatments in the appropriate order.
Placing this idea at the starting point of treatment design, I systematised it as the “Thermal Thread Technique®” and published it in “Lasers in Surgery and Medicine” in 2024. The paper has been selected as one of the journal’s Top Viewed and Top Cited Articles. I have also published the radiofrequency treatment method “Mono-Bi CrossLIFT Technique” and the “CrossTALK® protocol”, which combines injectable treatments with medical devices, in “Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology”.
ASLMS specialist (American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery) and Chair of the Board of Koyukai Medical Corporation. As the only member from Japan on Cynosure’s advisory board, I have been involved with PicoSure Pro since its development stage and have also reported cases treated with the first unit. I have given invited lectures at international congresses including ASLMS, the world’s largest laser medicine society, IMCAS ASIA and KOREA DERMA, and I lead the international physician education programme “GMI”. I am also engaged in teaching and training doctors from overseas.
Even for those who have not achieved the results they hoped for with previous treatments, I assess why those symptoms are occurring in that particular skin and make proposals starting from the order of treatments needed.
